Thai children learning at Good Start Charity school

READ TO SUCCEED

Helping Thai children learn to read and write for a brighter future

OBJECTIVE

Our motto is READ TO SUCCEED

Good Start Charity Foundation aims to help Thai children to learn to read and write Thai. We believe this Thai language literacy program will have a life changing impact on the children by:

  • preparing them properly to begin primary school where all textbooks are in Thai language.

  • encouraging their further educational progress to completion of high school.

  • enabling them to get a better job when they leave school. Thai companies will only offer menial jobs to applicants who cannot read or write and usually require a high school completion certificate for an entry level position.

Good Start partners with rural schools by providing high-caliber Thai language teachers to enhance reading and writing instruction. Our teachers presently give Thai language lessons to 148 kindergarten children at 2 rural schools outside of Hua Hin. We reinforce this core literacy program with other supporting programs including enrollment packages of school clothing and learning materials for all kindergarten children, and our 5 renovated kindergarten classrooms. Studies have shown that bright, clean and well furnished classrooms stimulate children to learn and encourage parents to enroll their children at our schools.
